Spinney Studios LLP is built on decades of skill, trust and collaboration. Our core team has worked together for more than 20 years, originally as part of The Curtain Girls and The Curtainmaker, later as Spinney Studios, and now as partners in our own limited liability partnership
We are four experienced curtain makers who believe in traditional methods, careful finishing and the kind of knowledge that only comes from years at the cutting table.
This isn’t a new venture. It’s the continuation of a lifetime’s work.

A Team Built on Experience
Between us, we bring well over 100 years of combined experience in handmade, interlined curtains and blinds
We’ve worked together long enough to know each other’s strengths instinctively — and long enough to know that good curtains are never rushed.
When we’re particularly busy, we’re supported by trusted former colleagues who share our standards and step in when needed. Quality remains consistent, whatever the workload.
Meet the Makers
Lisa
With over 20 years of experience, Lisa specialises in Roman blinds, headrails and motorisation.
Her pattern matching on multi-width blinds is so precise you simply cannot detect the joins, which is exactly how it should be.
Technical, meticulous and quietly exacting.
Ewa
Also bringing more than 20 years of experience, Ewa is our specialist in traditional hand pencil headings.
Precision gathering and hand stitching require enormous patience and skill and she firmly believes the back of a curtain should look just as beautiful as the front.

Jane
With over 50 years of experience, Jane brings extraordinary depth of knowledge to every project.
Her expertise spans cloth cutting, feasibility (“how exactly are we going to make that work?”), fitting and track making. She leads our quality control with an eagle eye and a refusal to compromise.
Described by Patrick Goff in Hotel Designs magazine as having an “encyclopedic knowledge of soft furnishings, she is deeply passionate about preserving the considerable skill required to make truly good curtains.
Because yes, it requires far more technical knowledge than many people realise.
Our Philosophy
We specialise in handmade, interlined curtains and blinds.
We do not produce bag-lined curtains and we have no plans to start.
Why?
Because we believe in structure, weight, longevity and the superior finish that traditional interlining provides. Our focus is on quality that hangs beautifully, insulates properly and lasts for years.
We choose to do what we do well and we do it properly.
Looking Ahead
As an LLP, Spinney Studios is structured to evolve. It allows senior members to gradually step back over time while ensuring skills are passed on and the workroom continues.
Preserving knowledge matters to us.
So does delivering beautifully made soft furnishings to homes and designers who value true craftsmanship.
