Frequently asked questions
Why should I have interlining?
Interlining makes a big difference to the way curtains look and a huge difference to the insulation value of the curtains.
What is the difference between blackout lining and thermal lining?
Blackout lining is usually what is called 3 pass ( 3 layers of the blackout film on the back of the cloth - thermal lining only has one layer.
Can I have curtains relined?
Yes, curtains can be relined - check that it is worthwhile as there is lots of work involved in unpicking and pressing before the new lining can go in.
Can I have my Roman blinds with a motorised fitting and a remote rather than chain pull?
Roman blinds work well if motorised and up to ten can be put on one remote. Each blind will need a motor in the headrail and be either wired into a spur or have a rechargeable battery.
Can I wash my curtains?
Handmade curtains are not suitable for washing and you should avoid sending them to the cleaners if possible.
An annual vacuum and brush on both sides to remove both dust and visitors will be much cheaper. (Old fashioned spring clean!)
